The St. Lawrence County District Attorney's office is reviewing the case of four men accused of stealing a bird and torturing it to death.

So far the four, at least three of them Clarkson University students, are charged only with petty larceny.

Further charges will be up to the D.A.'s office, police said.

Police say the suspects stole the Zebra Finch from another student and decided to find out whether they could kill it with loud music.

When the bird survived being placed in the trunk of a car and blasted with loud stereo music, they allegedly zapped it with an electric glove and finished it off with darts from a blow gun.
