Watertown (Nathan Lehma WTNY) -- Officials from the DEC will reportedly be meeting with several northside residents later this week to discuss concerns of pollution.

The "Watertown Daily Times" reported Sunday that the state agency has agreed to a private meeting with those who are leading an effort to acquire more information on tainted soil on the northside near Kelsey Creek.

Last week, those same residents attended a meeting of the Watertown City Council, urging city leaders to get involved. Mayor Jeff Graham responded by writing a letter to the the DEC. Decades ago, New York Air Brake dumped chemicals such as TCE in a landfill on the northside. Those chemicals were found in the soil in a study conducted 4 years ago.
