State Police in Massena have arrested a 35-year-old woman from South Carolina on multiple charges following an accident caused by an excessive blood alcohol content.

On July 2nd at 12:07 p.m., State Police arrested Courtney J. Errigo, of Summerville, SC, and charged her with four counts felony DWI pursuant to Leandra's Law, Common Law DWI, Aggravated DWI, two counts of Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to keep right, failure to use designated lane, and two counts of improper child restraints.

Following a one car personal injury rollover accident, caused by Errigo, on County Route 39 in the Town of Norfolk, State Police determined that Errigo had her two daughters, ages three and five, in the vehicle without any child restraints.

Errigo’s daughters were not injured during the accident, but were taken to Massena Memorial Hospital for precautionary evaluation.

After being treated for minor injuries to her left arm at Massena Memorial Hospital, Errigo was released into police custody to answer to her charges.

A reportable BAC is pending the result of a blood analysis by the State Police Forensic Center.  However, medical records obtained with Errigo’s consent indicate a BAC in excess of the .18% threshold for Aggravated DWI.

Errigo was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
