Dry weather is cause for concern with area farmers
Nathan Lehman WTNY -- There is growing concern where there should be growing crops. Area farmers could really use some rain.
With the recent dry conditions, it has become a real concern among local farmers that their livelihoods will become affected. While the drought is not as severe as what other parts of the country are facing, it is a concern for area farmers, specifically those who grow corn and hay. There isn't much hope in the upcoming weather forecast. There is no good chance of rain in the coming seven days.
Area golf courses have also watched their "greens" turn to "browns". So far, Golf course owners say they have seen a slight drop off in business this summer because of the dry conditions and they are watering fairways every few days trying to replenish what mother nature has taken away.
