Ogdensburg -- Last night, at approximately 6:25, New York State Police in Ogdensburg were called to investigate a car/pedestrian accident which occurred on State Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie.
Investigation at the scene revealed that a 2003 GMC pick up, operated by James McDonald Jr, age 58, of Ogdensburg, was traveling east on State Route 37 struck and killed Philip E. Gladle, age 76, of Heuvelton, who was walking in the roadway.
The Troop B Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to assist in the investigation.
St Lawrence County District Attorney Nicole Duve advised that an autopsy be performed. The autopsy will be conducted today.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
