A home in the Town of West Turin was heavily damaged by fire just before noon today.
According to fire officials, the fire at the Joseph Maciejko residence on State Route 12D was reported just before 11:30 this morning by a resident. Constableville Fire with mutual aid from Turin, Port Leyden, and Boonville responded to the scene.
The home suffered heavy damage to the kitchen and upstairs area. Investigators traced the cause to a chimney fire that spread into the walls and ceiling of the home.
There were no injuries reported. The home is covered by insurance.
