Fire on Fort Drum leaves 12 people homeless

Fort Drum -- About a dozen people were left without a home following a fire Wednesday afternoon at Ft. Drum.

The public affairs office at the base says the fire was reported at around 1 pm yesterday on Genera Grant Drive in the Richard Hills Housing Area. A total of four units were affected, one was heavily damaged. Temporary housing and other support services are currently being provided to the displaced soldiers and family members.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
