First Snow storm of the season hits the North Country
Northern New York -- It doesn't matter if you are working or on vacation today, it will probably be spent moving snow.
As the forecast called for, several inches of snow has fallen on the area since last night. It's part of that massive winter storm system that has caused problems from the south and midwest all the way now to the East Coast. The National Weather Service still has a Winter Storm Warning in place until 10 pm this evening. An additional 4 to 8 inches are expected to fall today with an additional inch or so tonight.
Winds are also creating some problems, especially on rural roads with blowing and drifting snow. Wind speeds are expected to be 15 to 25 miles per hour.
