A flu vaccination clinic has been set for Monday, November 16th for pregnant women in Jefferson County.
The vaccines will target both the seasonal flu and the H1N1 virus.
Doses of injectable vaccine specifically for pregnant women will be available free of charge on a walk-in basis at the clinic.
Hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson County Public Health on Mead Street in Watertown.
The clinic is for pregnant women only, as Public Health targets highest risk groups first for available vaccine.
Clinics for the general public will be scheduled in the future as vaccine becomes available.
Research shows that pregnant women who get a flu shot get sick less often and that babies born to moms who had a flu shot in pregnancy also get sick with the flu less often, according to Public Health.
