Former Fort Drum Soldier reportedly ready to plead guilty in WikiLeaks scandal
Ft. Meade, MD -- The one time Ft. Drum soldier at the center of the WikiLeaks scandal is reportedly ready to plead guilty to some of the charges against him.
Private First Class Bradley Manning is accused of intentionally leaking secret documents to the website, which later published them. The proposed plea deal being offered by his defense is for some of the lighter charges against Manning, who also facing serious charges that could lead to a sentence of life in prison.
The offer came about during a pretrial hearing at Ft. Meade, MD. His trial is scheduled to take place in February.
