Fort Drum Soldier arrested, caught riding a stolen ATV
(WTNY) -- A Ft. Drum soldier has been charged for allegedly possessing a stolen ATV that was taken in a series of burglaries last fall.
The arrest of 22 year old Richard Reinhardt came following an ATV stop in the Village of Copenhagen last October. The Lewis County Sheriffs Department says Reinhardt was not wearing a helmet while operating the vehicle. He was also unable to provide ownership documentation to the vehicle and it was towed. Deputies later learned that the ATV was stolen from a storage unit in Evans Mills earlier that month. State Police are handing the investigation into those incidents.
Reinhardt was charged Wednesday with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree and other traffic related counts. He was remanded back to Jefferson County jail where he is awaiting prosecution in the burglary cases.
