Another Fort Drum soldier has been killed in action in Afghanistan.

Sgt. Terry J. Lynch, 22, of Shepherd, Mont., died June 29 in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle, according to military officials.

He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.

Lynch arrived at Fort Drum in November, 2005. He is survived by his father.
