A Gouverneur-area man missing since September 14th resurfaced Friday, apparently after spending the last three months in the woods.

"He was just off playing survivor-man," said a state trooper.

David Dodds, 43, had been reported missing by his parents after he left their home in Fowler on foot and didn't return.

He emerged on Friday at a camp in Fowler where his dad and several friends were staying.

Dodds was about 30 pounds lighter than his listed 230 pounds and has some foot problems that will require medical attention, according to his mother, quoted by The Watertown Daily Times.

State Police say Dodds was treated, but is "not in any danger."

Mrs. Dodds told the Times that her son suffers from depression.
