An orchestra that has been entertaining the North Country for many years will soon be playing at the Village Green in Cape Vincent.
The Frank Sacci Orchestra will be performing on Saturday, July 28th on the Cape Vincent Village Green starting at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
“We are very excited to have the Frank Sacci Orchestra to our Village Green again this year. Mr. Sacci has provided entertainment in Cape Vincent for many years,” said Shelly Higgins, executive director for the Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce.
Over the years the orchestra has been known to draw in crowds from 150 to 200 people.
The orchestra consists of sixteen musicians dedicated to recreating the Big Band sound of yesterday and today. They have performed with the following: Al Martino, Jerry Vale, Robert Goulette, Connie Francis, The Smothers Brothers and Eddie Fischer.
The band plays authentic arrangements of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey and other famous bands. They have been swinging Northern New York audiences of all ages for over twenty-five years.
Mr. Sacci and his Orchestra are a local institution, having performed at the Mayor’s Ball in Watertown for 22 years. Before retiring to Florida for the winters, Mr. Sacci also conducted the Jefferson Community College Orchestra and Wind Ensemble for many years.
The Frank Sacci Orchestra will also present the music of Harry James and Count Basie, making for or a delightful and nostalgic afternoon.
