A Gouverneur man has been arrested and taken into custody on multiple charges of burglary and larceny.
Craig M. Murdie, 21, was taken into custody on Tuesday, July 26th by the Gouverneur Villiage Police as a result of a burglary in progress at the Empire Northeast Inc. Buildings on Monday, July 25th at approximately
Upon police arrival the suspects fled the area on foot and evaded arrest.
An in-depth investigation was launched and as a result Mr. Murdie has been charged with 4 counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, 1 count of Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, 1 count of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and 1 count of Petit Larceny.
The 4 counts of Burglary and Grand Larceny charges stem from the Empire Northeast Buildings.
The Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree charges are connected to thefts of copper wire that occurred at the National Grid Marshaling Yard located on West Main Street in the Village of Gouverneur.
The Petit Larceny charge stems from money that was stolen from a purse at a residence on the Hull Road in the Town of Fowler.
Mr. Murdie was arraigned in the Fowler Town Court where he was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with no bail.
