Gouverneur (WTNY) -- School officials in Gouverneur have voted to close down Fowler Elementary.
The decision came following a vote by the school board Monday night. School officials see the closure as a cost savings measure, but members of the Fowler community have voiced their disapproval with the plan. Students would be moved to other schools within the district.
The closure will take place at the end of the current school year.
