Governor Cuomo says the new law against texting-while-driving is working
Governor Andrew Cuomo says the new law that cracks down on texting-while-driving is working. Cuomo says law enforcement officials have issued more than 118-thousand tickets since last July for drivers using an electronic hand held device while driving. New York's texting-while-driving laws were strengthened last June, making it a primary offense and increasing the penalty for drivers caught texting or using a handheld device while behind the wheel.
