It will be a three-way race in the upcoming special election in the 23rd congressional district.

North County Conservative Party leaders endorsed Lake Placid accountant Doug Hoffman on Friday, giving him their line on the ballot.

Hoffman will go up against Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava and a yet-to-be-named Democratic candidate in the election to replace Rep. John McHugh.

Many conservatives feel that Scozzafava's record isn't conservative enough to warrant their party's line.

"I have said 'I am the conservative Republican' in this race. Today, (NYS Conservative Party) Chairman Mike Long and the Conservative County Chairs from the 23rd CD confirmed that," Hoffman said in a statement.
