Watertown - The campaign of Republican Matt Doheny is bringing a big gun to town to help with the challenger's efforts to win the North Country Congressional seat next month. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor will be in Watertown later this afternoon.
According to the Doheny campaign, Cantor will be joining him in taking a tour of Knowlton Technologies on Factory St. From there, the pair will appear together at a fundraiser at Savory Cafe on Washington St.
Doheny is seeking to defeat Democratic incumbent Bill Owens in November. A recent independent poll showed Owens with a double digit lead over Doheny.
