Lake Ontario water level extremely low, could get even worse
Nathan Lehman WTNY -- The water level on Lake Ontario is low already but officials are cautioning it could get worse later this fall.
At last night's meeting of the International Saint Lawrence River Board of Control, attendees talked about what can be done to fix the problem. In a reading taken September 12 the water level was nine-inches below average and ten-inches below last year's level.
The low water is being blamed on factors like limited winter snow pack and summertime drought.
