Watertown (WTNY) -- For the second straight week, the Jefferson County Board of Legislators will meet to discuss the situation within the Sheriff's Department.
Last week, following a closed door meeting, the board decided to hire an outside investigator to look into the department. Specifically the case of a sheriff's deputy who was found on the side of the road in Henderson last December, passed out in his patrol vehicle. Reports released last week say that Deputy Adam Hallett had an open bottle of whiskey in the car with him and that bottle was disposed of by a responding deputy.
It's not yet been determined who will be the investigating entity.
