(Nathan Lehman)-- A Lowville woman has admitted to embezzling over $21,000 from the U.S. Postal Service.
Thirty five year old Erin Woolschlager pleaded guilty in federal court in Syracuse Wednesday to the charge of misappropriation of postal funds. She admitted to cashing 105 money orders, totaling over $14,000 while working at the Natural Bridge Post Office, without purchasing or processing any of the money orders.
The money was instead deposited into her personal checking account to pay bills and make purchases. She also admitted to stealing in excess of $6500 in postal funds.
Woolschlager faces up to ten years in prison and $250,000 in fines when sentenced on September 24.
