Lyme teens arrested for cemetery desecration

State police have arrested two teens from the Town of Lyme for allegedly damaging several gravestones in Chaumont.

Troopers arrested the two 15 year-old boys on charges of Cemetery Desecration. The arrests stem from a complaint received regarding 39 headstones that had been knocked over, 14 of them being damaged or broken at the Cedar Grove Cemetery on Washington Street in Chaumont. The incident occurred the early morning hours of May 3rd.

The juveniles were issued Family Court Appearance Tickets and were released to their parent.
