A major power outage in and around the Canton area is being experienced by residents.
According to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, National Grid believes that the outages are caused by a circuit breaker failure at the substation south of St. Lawrence University.
The outage may last for an extended period of time, up to 12 hours or more.
