Watertown (WTNY) -- The closure of Mercy Care Center in Watertown has been delayed.
Mayor Jeff Graham was informed by letter that the facility is postponing it's closure by three weeks. Original plans called for Mercy to close for good this month. Now, it has been delayed to early next month. Mercy says it is awaiting approval by a New York State agency.
Mercy has been scheduled to close for well over a year now, as many of it's residents will be taken to a brand new facility being built on outer Washington St. Over 200 people are scheduled to be out of work when the facility closes for good.
