Watertown— It has been a slushy sort of day with rain and some snow on the ground. Watertown did not get hit with as much snow as other counties. “Will the snow stay?” This is the question on the minds of most Watertown residents, potentially hoping for a white Christmas.
Having a white Christmas truly makes the season feel more authentic for most folks. ABC50 spoke with Syracuse News Channel 9 Meteorologist, Jim Teske who predicts a white Christmas for the Watertown area.
Approximately 4-8 inches of snow should fall this evening and last throughout the weekend. According to Mr. Teske, “This time the snow will stick. We’ll see some flurries Christmas day, but I am 99.9% certain the Watertown area will have a white Christmas.”
Tonight: Snow. Low around 27. Southwest wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Saturday: Snow. High near 28. Northwest wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
