The Lewis County Humane Society will be holding their 2nd Annual ‘Mighty Mutt Strut’ dog walk and festival.
On Saturday, June 9th from noon to 3 p.m. walkers of all ages can bring their canine companions to the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Lowville for a day of fundraising.
Proceeds raised at the “Mighty Mutt Strut” Dog Walk & Festival will go directly to support the care and comfort of the animals at the Shelter.
Walkers can collect pledges and bring them to the event or pay a $10 entrance fee at the event. Dogs are welcome and must be leashed, as well as have a current rabies vaccination.
It is not necessary to bring a dog to be a part of the event, and there will be Shelter dogs available to walk with participants who do not bring their own canine walking buddy.
“A highlight of the fundraiser will be on-site Adorable Adoptables of Lewis County,” said Executive Director, Patti Gorby, “This community event is an excellent showcase for the many terrific dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies we have available for adoption and awaiting their new forever homes.”
The event features many entertaining activities for the whole family to enjoy including dog agility demonstrations, fun doggie games, a mini-dog show, vendors, food, and prizes.
