The issue of a minimum wage increase continues to be a topic of discussion in Albany, and one local lawmaker is looking to gauge the opinion of the public on the matter. Republican North Country Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush has held a recent series of public roundtable discussions within the 122 District. The next of which is tonight in Evans Mills. Blankenbush says many small business owners have concerns with what a hike could do to their business. Blankenbush recently voted against the wage hike bill that passed in the Assembly. He says the hike would be too much for businesses. The next roundtable is from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the LeRay Town Municipal Building on LeRay St. in Evans Mills.
