More aches and pains for financially troubled EJ Noble Hospital
Gouverneur -- E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur is going to court to try to get money donated to the hospital.
The legal dispute is over trust funds donated to the hospital. Hospital officials are trying to get that money to help with it's worsening financial situation, especially in light of it's forced closure for the month at the hands of the state. The New York State Attorney General's Office is fighting the idea, questioning whether using the donations as lines of credit were the intentions of the donors.
The matter is being decided in state court. About 70 workers who were laid off when the hospital was temporarily shut down in September remain off the job.
