Croghan (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- Two people were sent to the hospital following a motorcycle accident in Lewis County over the weekend.

Sheriff's Deputies say it happened Sunday afternoon on Route 812 in the Village of Croghan.

55 year old Harvey Williams of Lyons Falls was operating his motorcycle when he lost control while trying to avoid a pickup truck driven by 30 year old Steven Reed of Croghan, who was pulling out of the parking lot of the Nice and Easy.

Both Williams and a passenger, 58 year old Cynthia Lavancha of Lyons Falls, were partially trapped under the bike. She was later flown to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and her condition is not being released. Williams was taken to Lewis County General Hospital. Reed was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
