While there have been no arrests yet for the killing of a Stockholm man, Sheriff Kevin Wells says the investigation is making progress.

Thirty-one year old Daniel Simonds was fatally shot at the entrance of his Porter Lynch Road home on May 13.

Three men fled the scene in vehicles, investigators believe. A search of Simonds' property turned up 140 pounds of high grade marijuana and nearly $60,000 cash. Investigators believe Simonds had been targeted for robbery.

Sheriff Wells his investigators and deputies continue working the case with help from State Police.

"We feel confident that everything is moving forward and we're pursuing many leads that are coming in at this time," Sheriff Wells said.

He anticipates "a positive outcome" but is not willing to name any suspects, the sheriff said.

The public's help is still encouraged. "Their cooperation is appreciated," Wells said.

Anyone with tips can call the Sheriff's Department command post at 315-379-2096 or 315-379-2097, or the Sheriff's Office at 215-379-2222.
