Ogdensburg woman arrested for Welfare Fraud
Ogdensburg (WWTI) -- St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 28 year old Laura Collins of Ogdensburg, charging her with Welfare Fraud in the 3rd degree and 3 counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the 1st degree.
It's alleged that Collins submitted weekly daycare statements that contained false information. Police say Collins received $18,297.47 in benefits that she was not entitled to during the period of April 19th, 2009 to October 2, 2011.
Laura Collins was arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court and released to the supervision of the Probation Dept.
