Bill Owens and Doug Hoffman announced new endorsements Friday as they try to capture the 23rd District congressional seat.
Owens has won the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America, his campaign announced. The CWA represents over 1,000 members in the 23rd.
"Bill Owens helped to create over two thousand jobs in Upstate New York," the CWA said in a statement.
Hoffman announced the endorsement of former GOP presidential candidate Steve Forbes.
"Only one candidate in this race adheres to and promotes the true Republican values of smaller government, pro-growth tax policies and respect for traditional values. That candidate is Doug Hoffman," Forbes said.
Meanwhile, Hoffman's campaign released the text of a new TV commercial which says that Owens and Republican Dede Scozzafava are like two peas in a pod in their approach to spending and social issues.
