Albany (Nathan Lehman WTNY) -- The two candidates for Congress in the North Country's 21st District met last night in Washington County, near Albany, to discuss agriculture.
It was part of a meet the candidates night in Greenwhich, NY. Democratic incumbent Bill Owens and Republican challenger Matt Doheny shared the stage for the first time in this campaign. According to reports from the forum, the two both pushed for passage of the Farm Bill, which has stalled in Congress.
There was some disagreement on issues such as Social Security. There is no official word yet if the two candidates will be debating each other in the immediate area.
This year's Congressional race is a rematch from the 2010 race, which was won by Owens.
