A pickup driver and her passenger were lucky to escape injury when the truck took a tumble down an embankment, State Police say.
The driver, 27 year old Shalom Peterson of Fort Drum rounded a curve too fast on the Elm Ridge Road shortly before noon Monday, according to a trooper on scene.
She over corrected, sending the Dodge Ram over a set of guardrails, flipping end over end and landing upright against a large tree stump, the trooper said.
Only the stump stopped the pickup from continuing and ending up in a large stream.
Peterson walked away uninjured along with 24 year old Scott S. Lewis, of Philadelphia. Lewis, however, was taken to a hospital to be checked out because he banged his head on the glass and has a history of seizures, the trooper said.
The demolished pickup was taken away on a flatbed.
No tickets were issued.
