Police asking for help identifying motorcyclist who fled the scene of an accident Sunday night

Carthage -- On Sunday, June 24 at approximately 7:30pm, the New York State Police were called to a property damage motorcycle accident in which the operator of the motorcycle left the scene. 

Witnesses say the motorcycle, described as an orange or bronze colored 1999 Honda CBR 600, was traveling at a high rate of speed on West Street Road, in the Town of Wilna, heading toward the Village of Carthage at the time of the accident.
 
Police are asking for the public's assistance with identifying and locating the driver of the motorcycle. The operator was described as being in his early 20's with short blond hair cut to a flattop syle.  The operator was also said to have a tattoo along his right arm that looked like leaves or a plant that went from his shoulder to his elbow.
