Police: drunk driver hit pedestrian in wheelchair

A drunk driver hit a person in a wheelchair and left the scene, according to Watertown City Police.

It happened just after midnight on Wednesday in the 200 block of State Street, police said.

Eighteen-year old Andrew T. Bombard of Sackets Harbor is charged with aggravated DWI along with leaving the scene of an accident, speeding, failure to keep right and marijuana possession.

Bombard was stopped in the 300 block of Franklin Street and allegedly registered a .21 percent blood alcohol level.

He was issued appearance tickets and released without bail.
