SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The #4 Orange (7-0) extended its home-court winning streak to 27 with an 84-53 win against Long Beach State (3-5) on Thursday evening in the Carrier Dome. The consecutive Orange victories is the longest Division I active span in the nation.

Syracuse also upped its regular-season, non-conference winning streak to 47.

Junior C.J. Fair led the offense, notching 16 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the year.

"I just think what was different today was that I got a couple easy points early. I was being aggressive and I think that being on the offensive glass helped me a lot," Fair said.

Sophomore Michael-Carter Williams tallied his third straight double-double, totaling 15 points and dishing out 10 assists. Sophomore Rakeem Christmas had a personal-best 11 points to go along with five rebounds and two blocks. Redshirt freshman Trevor Cooney had 11 points off the bench, equaling his career-best effort.

The Orange allowed the 49ers just four points in the first five minutes of the game, as SU picked up a 12 point advantage at 16-4. Fair led the offense during the streak with six points, while senior Brandon Triche and Carter-Williams tipped in five points each.

Syracuse drew a 17-point lead after Christmas drained a pair of back-to-back dunks. Fair quickly followed with a third consecutive slam. The Orange, managed to stretch it to 20 points before heading into the intermission ahead of Long Beach State 49-29.

Fair led the charge again in the second half as SU used an 11-0 run to construct a 28-point advantage at 61-33. Syracuse took its largest lead of the game, up by 34 points at 81-47, before closing out the game with an 84-53 win against the 49ers.

The Orange is back in action on December 8th against Monmouth at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Sports Management Club at SU will also be hosting its eighth annual Charity Sports Auction in the backcourt during the game to benefit the Special Olympics of New York. Admission to the event is included in the purchase of any ticket.
