Soon Sackets harbor will call out the Militia and prepare for a reenactment of an attack from the enemy.
On Saturday, June 30th starting at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., living history re-enactors show visitors to the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site how area farmers, merchants and tradesmen answered the “call to arms” during the War of 1812.
Their period encampment shows a display of military and civilian weapons, equipment, and common everyday items used by the Militia and soldiers. Some items will include clothing, bedding, food stuffs, and leisure time items.
