Samaritan Medical Center will help EJ Noble Hospital get back on their feet
Gouverneur -- There could be a light at the end of the tunnel for E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur.
According to reports, Samaritan Medical Center has agreed to help out in managing the hospital's lab, which was shut down by the New York State Department of Health on Friday, essentially shutting down the hospital itself. Samaritan should have a plan in place by the end of the week, which could allow E.J. Noble to resume operations next week.
Also, it was learned Tuesday that a cancer patient who received the wrong blood type at the hospital as part of a transfusion later died. It's not known if the wrong blood type was the reason for the death.
The family of the man plans on suing the hospital.
