A Lewis County man with a long history of arrests for being under the influence of inhalants was picked up again Friday after a trespassing complaint at a defunct paper mill.

Lewis County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the site of the Lyons Falls Pulp and Paper Company on Center Street in Lyons Falls Friday evening on a report of a man trespassing on the property. Upon their arrival, they found 37-year-old Kevin M. Bunke of Port Leyden wandering the property in a “highly intoxicated” state. Deputies stated Bunke had traces of gold paint covering his face.

Bunke was arrested under Public Health Law for inhalant abuse and issued an appearance ticket.

Bunke has had several previous run-ins with police while under the influence of inhalants, including an incident in 2004 when he was injured after leaping from a roof to evade police.
