Jefferson County Sheriff John P. Burns has officially announced the temporary appointment of Deputy Sheriff Detective Andrew R. Neff, to the position of Undersheriff, effective July 17th.
Deputy Sheriff Detective Neff will be replacing Undersheriff Timothy Dow who will be retiring on July 23rd.
Deputy Neff has been with the force for 24 years, appointed as Deputy Sheriff on July 27th, 1987.
He has worked many different positions within the Sheriff’s Office which Sheriff Burns says will aid in his experience and common sense, along with future goals and visions for the Sheriffs Office and community members in Jefferson County.
Detective Neff will soon complete his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration.
