A Sergeant with the 10th Sustainment Brigade is in custody after shooting that occurred on
Fort Drum.
Sergeant Jason Edward Seeds, 31, of Thoms River, NJ, of the 59th Chemical Company, 10th Sustainment Brigade reportedly shot his girlfriend in the back during a domestic dispute.
The shooting occurred on Hickory Drive, a residential community area on base.
The woman was transported to Samaritan Medical Center, but no information is being released regarding her condition.
At this time the matter is under investigation by Army's Criminal Investigation Division (CID). They are the leading investigation agency handling the shooting according to Chris Gray with the CID.
Sergeant Seeds arrived on Fort Drum in March of 2000 after completing basic training. He has been deployed to Iraq three times and once to Kosovo.
