A Fort Drum soldier was killed by enemy fire Sunday in Afghanistan, according to the military.
Specialist Rodrigo Munguiarivas was a vehicle driver with the 710th Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
He was killed by indirect enemy fire, the military said.
Spc. Munguiarivas arrived at Fort Drum in July, 2008 after joining the active-duty Army in April, 2008 and deployed early this year.
The Maryland native is survived by his parents.
