Spring comes in "like a lion"
Watertown (WTNY/WWTI)-- A year ago the we were enjoying record warm temperatures with daily highs in the upper 60's to low 70's.
Fast forward to 2013...areas of the North Country are dealing with Lake Effect snow, with the Tug Hill area right in that snow bulls eye.
According to the National Weather Service, a Lake Effect Snow Warning is in place for the Eastern Lake Ontario region through Thursday night. The Tug Hill can expect up to two feet of snow when it's all said and done. Other areas, including the City of Watertown could get about a half foot of snow between now and then.
For the rest of Northern New York, only flurries and passing snow showers are expected as temperatures struggle to crack the freezing mark of 32°. Winds of 15-30 mph will make it feel much colder with wind chill temperatures in the teens.
More early spring like temps of the low 40's and some sunshine expected for early next week.
