Clayton – On Wednesday, Dec. 12, 7:30 p.m., TIPAF at the Clayton Opera House will broadcast, live from Madison Square Garden, “121212: The Concert for Sandy Relief” to benefit those who lost their homes to Hurricane Sandy.
ABC50 spoke with Executive Director of TIPAF (Thousand Islands Performing Arts Fund), Joe Gleason of the Clayton Opera House. According to Mr. Gleason, the event is family friendly, so there will not be any alcohol available. There is no cost for the event, but proceeds from concessions will go to benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which is the organization that is putting on the live concert from Madison Square Garden.
An all-star lineup of performers includes Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Sir Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Chris Martin, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West and The Who.

The Clayton Opera House will project the concert in high definition, digitally on a 23-ft wide screen. Mr. Gleason said, “There is nothing like seeing these performers on a 23 foot wide screen.”
Standard concessions will be sold such as popcorn, soda, candy, and etc. Once again, all the proceeds from the concession will go to victims of Hurricane Sandy.
