Stockholm man jailed for assault, resisting arrest

State police arrested a West Stockholm man for assault and resisting arrest following a domestic incident Tuesday.

Troopers arrested 37-year-old Stanley E. Stephenson Jr. of Old Market Road on charges of 1st degree Criminal Contempt, 3rd degree Assault, 2nd degree Attempted Assault, and Resisting Arrest following an incident at his home. Troopers stated Stephenson violated an order of protection held by 37-year-old Lisa M. Wells of Norwood during a domestic incident at the residence.

Stephenson was arraigned in Town of Stockholm Court and sent to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail/$20,000 bond.

Wells was charged with 2nd degree Obstructing Governmental Administration during the incident for allegedly attempting to stop troopers from arresting Stephenson. She was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Stockholm Court and released.
