Strong winds and severe Thunderstorms expected today
Northern New York -- An autumn-like storm is forecast to intensify as it passes across our region today. We’re expecting widespread showers and thunderstorms to move through, with the timeframe for inclement weather from 11 am - 4 pm.
The biggest threat is for strong winds in excess of 60 mph, which could take down tree limbs and cause scattered power outages.
By tonight, the cold front will be to our south and the threat for any showers or storms will shift into the southern Tier and eastern New York. Less humid air will filter in behind the cold front but the air won’t be much cooler.
