Brownville (WTNY) -- The superintendent at General Brown has resigned from the job.

The "Watertown Daily Times" reports that during Monday's Board of Education meeting, board members accepted the resignation of Stephan Vigliotti. According to the report, Vigliotti is looking to fill a social studies teaching position at the junior-senior high school. The resignation would be effective June 30. Vigliotti's tenure as superintendent has been a rough one.

Several years ago, a petition was begun by district taxpayers seeking his resignation.
