Morrisville (WSYR-TV) -- Madison County Sheriff's deputies have taken a man into custody after leading police on a chase that began near Munnsville and ended on the Cazenovia College campus.
Deputies say the incident began shortly after they served an order of protection against the suspect, 26-year-old Derik Churchill, Oneida. Initial information given to investigators said Churchill was armed and dangerous.
The chase forced SUNY Morrisville and Cazenovia College to lockdown their campuses. The campuses are no longer on lockdown.
The pursuit started near Munnsville, continued through southern Madison County, into Onondaga County and back into Madison County. Several attempts to stop Churchill's vehicle were made by using stop sticks. The chase finally came to an end on the Cazenovia College campus.
No firearms were found in Churchill's possession when he was taken into custody. Churchill was arraigned in Town of Stockbridge Court on charges of Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Harassment, several other charges are pending.
Churchill was sent to Madison County Jail on $1,000 cash bail/$5,000 bond.
